Hi everybody, thanks for stopping by!
We’re Jim & Angie Leahey, owners of Texas FirehouseCoffee (TFC). If you have a moment and a fresh cup of coffee, we’d love to introduce ourselves and share a little about who we are.
Before we get to the coffee and the firefighting, let me introduce my wife of over 41 years, Angie. As in life and firefighting, the crew is only as good as its members — and I’m blessed to have partnered with the finest! Over the years, Angie has endured the stress of my public safety career, tolerated my security contracting in Iraq, weathered the storms of small business endeavors, and been patient through my many fishing boat projects. All with a smile and an enthusiastic spirit. Angie is an accomplished restaurateur and customer service expert, possessing all the elements of a true professional.
Angie led a team of bakers and baristas through the lifecycle of a coffee shop in downtown Corpus Christi, Texas. Hand in hand with her father (my fishing partner), she developed recipes, roasted beans, and created memories as they shaped the downtown coffee scene. It became a unique café, known for its fabulous scones and freshly roasted coffee!
As for me, the day I turned 18, I walked into a fire stationand and immediately knew I was hooked. After time in the U.S. Army, I pursued my firefighting passion, embarking on a journey that included hot shot teams, aircraft rescue, structure firefighting, hazmat response, and tactical paramedicine. Although challenging, my career has been exciting and culminated in achieving the rank of Fire Chief — a position that gave me the honor of leading brave young firefighters along their journey, a time I will never forget.
So, after several successful careers, we decided to retire. Well… that didn’t last long! We found ourselves looking for new challenges. We considered part-time jobs — nothing there. Thought about returning to ourprevious careers — been there, done that. Start another small business? That idea kept coming back and the more we thought about it, the more obvious it became: coffee. With Angie’s restaurant and coffee shop experience and my firehouse coffee habits, we realized we could create something special together.
So, we packed up the motorhome, loaded the dogs, and headedout to find a coffee roaster who could help us craft the perfect cup. It didn’t take long before we formed a partnership with a truly talented roaster, someone with a gift for blending just the right combination of beans and roasting them to perfection.
And so our journey began! We look forward to meeting new customers, sharing stories, and enjoying fresh-roasted coffee together. Please stop by our booth at your local art show or fair, and feel free to shoot us an email with your thoughts — we’d love to hear from you!
Enjoy, Jim & Angie
